Blacksmithing is one of the primary professions in WoW Classic. As a blacksmith, you can craft armor, weapons, and more. Since you need ores for this, Blacksmithing can be combined very well with the Mining profession.
This WoW Classic Blacksmithing Guide explains what’s special about Blacksmithing in WoW SoD and how you can effectively level Blacksmithing from 1-300.

How to Level Blacksmithing in WoW Classic
As with all professions in WoW Classic, the same applies to Blacksmithing: You receive skill points by carrying out a specific activity (e.g. making an item, etc.). The frequency with which you receive a skill point depends on your current skill level. Please note the following color code:
- Orange: You are guaranteed to always gain a skill point.
- Yellow: You often gain a skill point.
- Green: You rarely gain a skill point.
- Gray: You no longer gain skill points.
How many materials you need to skill Blacksmithing in WoW Classic depends on your luck in collecting skill points.
To practice Blacksmithing as a profession, you need a Blacksmith Hammer. You can get this from various Trade Supplies vendors. You will also need access to an anvil. These are often located near blacksmithing trainers.
Blacksmithing in WoW Classic is leveled from 1-75 (Apprentice), from 75-150 (Journeyman), from 150-225 (Expert) and 225-300 (Artisan).

Which specialization you choose, if any, does not influence this leveling guide. No specialization-specific recipes are used.
