Aloy travels to the west coast to a settlement called Tide's Reach. There she meets Fenirra and Revikka. Fenirra is injured and Aloy learns that the injury came from Fenirra's father, Garokkah. Fenirra had followed her father out on one of his hunts to try to convince him to come home. The discussion turned violent and he stabbed her before running off.

Fenirra is concerned about her father and wants him found. She knows that he has gone out into the wilds near the Stand of the Sentinels and that he should be at his camp. Aloy offers to find her father if she can.

Go to Garrokah's Camp

From Tide's Reach head southeast towards the mountains. It will be a long ride to the area but if you have found campfires along the way, it can make the trip a little shorter. Near the mountains will be a small camp with his gear. Use the Focus to highlight his path and follow it. When you find him, he will be fighting an Acid Clawstrider. Help him and defeat the machine together.

Kill the Acid Clawstrider

The Acid Clawstrider is a Midweight Combat Machine and is a little different than its Clawstrider variant. It is weak against Plasma damage and strong against Fire and Acid damage. It has the following components, weapons, and abilities:

  • Metalbite Sac: Located on the Clawstrider's chest, this contains valuable materials. When damaged it will explode. It is also a key upgrade resource if left intact
  • Acid Bomb Launcher: Located on the Calwstrider's tail, this can launch Acid Bombs and deliver powerful melee attacks. If you detach the tail, you will disable this ability. You can also use it as a weapon.
  • Resource Canister: Located at the base of the Clawstrider's back, this is a storage canister for valuable resources. Detach it if you want the contents.

Disable the tail first and the rest of the fight will be easy. Keep hitting the Clawstrider with Plasma ammo and dodge the Acid Bombs and attacks when you can.

Talk to Garrokah

After the battle, Aloy talks to Garrokah and tells him that Fenirra asked her to look for him. He, in turn, will ask for Aloy's help in saving a squad from an ambush. Follow him and listen to what he says. It seems that the squad has been watching enemy movements for years. This doesn't sit right with Aloy, but she follows him anyway. Along the way, they will be attacked by two Stalkers. This should be a relatively easy fight and once they are defeated, follow Garokkah to the site of the ambush,

Go to the Ambush Site

Unfortunately, when you arrive at the ambush location, there will be nothing but an old memorial for fallen soldiers. It seems that the ambush occurred long ago and that Garokkah's old squad has been dead for 30 years. Garokkah is confused by what he sees and forgets Aloy's name. Aloy tells him about what happened between him and Fenirra and he is shocked by what he hears. He then admits that his head sometimes goes into a fog and when he comes out of it, he is back where he is, having no memory of what happened before.

Talk to Garrokah and Follow the Tracks

Aloy offers to take Garokkah back to Tide's Reach but before they go, he notices that one of the metal Memorial Markers is missing. He asks Aloy for her help in retrieving it. Use the Focus to scan the memorial and follow the tracks. The path will take you to a Clamberjaw site.

Kill the Clamberjaws and Find the Memorial Marker

You will find Clamberjaws roaming around scrap piles. You will need to defeat the Clamberjaws in order to search the piles. Clamberjaws are weak against Purgewater damage and strong against Fire and Plasma damage. They have a ranged attack where they throw fire and a sonic attack that stuns you for a time. When up close they will try to pounce on you as their melee attack or they jump high and pound the ground, causing pieces of the earth to jut out like knives. It has detachable components on its head, tail, and sides.

Defeat the Clamberjaws and search the scrap piles. One of the piles will have the marker. Return to Garrokah and hand him the Marker. He will want to spend some time at the Memorial so Aloy can return to Fenirra.

Return to Fenirra

Aloy returns to Tide's Reach to let Fenirra know about her father. Garrokah shows up moments later and apologizes to Fennira for what he did. She will forgive him and promise to look after him. You will receive the Sunhawk Shredder Gauntlet as a way of thanks. This ends the quest.
