We specialize in treatment of spinal cord injury, brain injury, stroke, major multi-trauma, pulmonary disease, respiratory failure, musculoskeletal/orthopedics and complex pediatric conditions.Good Shepherd traces its pioneering spirit for innovation and compassionate care to its founding family, The Rev. Each year, we have the pleasure of highlighting a family at our Gala in the Garden, which benefits Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Hospital Emily Howatt Pliskatt Pediatric Unit. This is the story of the Cederbergs and baby Fallon, who arrived at Good Shepherd with a nasogastric (NG) tube, difficulty eating and paralysis on the left side of her body as a result of a stroke — and left the Pediatric Unit ready to take on all of life’s possibilities.“I don’t think there’s anything that’s going to stop her. She’s just a little spitfire.”Watch the full story: https://bit.ly/4e6WbmY

Another successful event, thank you Good Shepherd Rehabilitation for bringing me in to share a message of hope and resilience 😊🎤“We had a WONDERFUL evening. Chris was just flat out terrific. He had the sold-out audience smiling, laughing, crying – the full range of emotions. We have received nothing but positive feedback, and I think Chris really enjoyed speaking to our particular audience as well and meeting several of the attendees afterward.” Michael Spigel CEO#keynotespeaker #motivationalspeaker

💪 Congratulations to Samantha Partington, PT, DPT, manager of rehabilitation services at Good Shepherd’s Outpatient sites in Kutztown and Fogelsville, who recently competed in the grueling #MurphChallenge. “The Murph” is a nationwide workout fundraiser that takes place in communities throughout the country in honor of LT Michael P. Murphy. It consists of a 1-mile run, 100 pullups, 200 pushups, 300 squats and another 1-mile run — all while wearing a 14-lb. or 20-lb. vest. Way to go, Samantha! #GoodShepherdProud

We’re grateful for world-renowned motivational speaker Chris Norton, who visited Good Shepherd on May 29 to share his keys to living “A No Excuse Life” before a sold-out crowd on our South Allentown campus. Doctors gave Chris a 3% chance of ever moving after he sustained a severe spinal cord injury while playing college football. Chris defied those odds, eventually walking to receive his college diploma and down the aisle at his wedding. On this special evening, Chris detailed his remarkable story of perseverance and how his viewpoint on life has helped him move forward regardless of the circ*mstances. He then closed the inspirational evening by standing up before the audience.Thank you, Chris, for sharing your powerful message with the community. And a special thanks to WFMZ-TV’s Melanie Falcon, who served as special guest host and Q&A moderator for the evening.Photo Album: https://lnkd.in/eANviAsT
