Hidden across Link’s Awakening’s giant, mysterious island are fifty hidden Seashell collectibles. On their own, they’re worthless, but by visiting the Seashell Mansion (it’s more of a small hut with a few big seashells stuck to the roof) you can trade them in for some nifty prizes - including the best sword in the game - Koholint Sword! Some of these seashells are in plain sight while others are buried in sand, hidden in chests in dungeons, and even submerged underwater. Your quest to find them all will take you all over the island - here's how to find all 50 Secret Seashells.

If you want a region-based list, head to the All Secret Seashells Locations - By Region page.

Flippers

The Flippers are obtained in Angler's Tunnel, the fourth dungeon. These allow Link to swim in water, as well as Dive by pressing B.

Secret Seashell 33

This Seashell is found by Diving at the base of the waterfall at the North-West corner of Kanalet Castle. The easiest point to start swimming here is the steps next to the Telephone Booth on the North-East corner of the castle grounds (this is because you can't actually swim under the bridge into the castle).

Secret Seashell 34

This Seashell is located in Tal Tal Mountain Range, at the top of the triple waterfall that's just past the waterfall that used to obscure the entrance to Angler's Tunnel. Dive in this spot to collect the Seashell.

Secret Seashell 35

Enter the cave to the right of where Secret Seashell 34 was and Bomb the cracked wall portion; make your way through here and back outside to a Treasure Chest with this Seashell inside. The block puzzle back inside can only be completed when approaching it from the bottom, in case you were wondering, and rewards you with 100 Rupees at the end.

Secret Seashell 36

Secret Seashell 37

Also near the green-roofed Cucco House in Tal Tal Mountain Range. Head East this time over the rope bridge to find three boulders in the corner: lift them to find this Seashell.

advertisem*nt

Secret Seashell 41

Get the Magnifying Lens at the end of the Trading Sequence, then visit the house in the North-East corner of Animal Village to find a Zola. Talk to him and he’ll give you this Seashell.

Secret Seashell 42

To the left of the entrance of Kanalet Castle you’ll see a row of potholes and a staircase. Hookshot over and climb the stairs down to find the Seashell.

Secret Seashell 43

Found during the rafting mini-game, where the current takes you Westbound. Use the Hookshot to get to a small island and Dig in the back-right corner for the Seashell.

advertisem*nt

Secret Seashell 44

This Seashell is awarded for setting a fair time in Rapids Race minigame; 30 seconds should do, and is do-able with the Hookshot.

Secret Seashell 45

This Seashell is a bit of a walk to get to. Make your way to the green-roofed Cucoo House in Tal Tal Mountain Range, then use the Hookshot to go West over the rope bridge. On the other side, slash the Bush to reveal a cave you can enter. Continue West through the tunnel and emerge on the other side. Get past the falling rocks and, at the top, you’ll see a bunch of liftable boulders. Lift the one in the upper right corner to find the Seashell!

Secret Seashell 46

Head to the Mabe Village Fishing Pond and catch a Blooper in the fishing minigame above a certain size (they appear after completing Catfish's Maw). Bloopers thrust upwards and away from Link, so don't reel them in when they do this or you'll risk breaking the line! If a Blooper isn't present, or one gets away, keep removing fish from the pond until another one shows up.

When viewing the Fishing Pond in the overworld, a glowing spot in the pond indicates that a Cheep Cheep, Blooper or Ol' Baron is present!

advertisem*nt

Secret Seashell 47

Also in the Mabe Village Fishing Pond will be the Cheep Cheep, which again appear after finishing Catfish's Maw. These are much rarer, and harder to catch too. When one leaps out of the water, wait until it starts swimming again before reeling it in. If you don't, your line will break and the Cheep Cheep will escape! Catch the Cheep Cheep and, if it meets the size requirement, you'll be given a Seashell!

When viewing the Fishing Pond in the overworld, a glowing spot in the pond indicates that a Cheep Cheep, Blooper or Ol' Baron is present!

Secret Seashell 48

In the far upper left corner of the Face Shrine (the sixth dungeon), take the stairs in the top corner of the room and you’ll appear outside on a walled island in the rafting mini-game. The only thing here is a Treasure Chest with a Seashell inside it.

Secret Seashell 49

advertisem*nt

In the Eagle Tower dungeon, the seventh in the game, fight the red Hinox (the cyclops that likes to throw Link) on the second floor, then fall down one of the holes on the left side of the screen to land on a ledge on the first floor. Go North all the way to the top to find a Treasure Chest in the corner with a Seashell.

Mirror Shield

The Mirror Shield is the final piece of equipment in the game, and is found in Eagle Tower. It allows Link to bounce projectiles back, and will help you reach the final Secret Seashell in the game.

Secret Seashell 50

Make your way to the eighth and final dungeon, Turtle Rock, by going West from the Cucco House in Tal Tal Mountain Range across the rope bridge, into the cave at the secret Bush entrance, back outside and up the falling rock section, then jumping West down the drop and then North into another cave. Here will a steam of fire that you can pass through using your new Mirror Shield. Once you emerge outside, you'll be able to find a cross-shaped pebble formation on the ground nearby. Dig in the center of it to find the final Seashell!
